First fix: injection fuel pipes

My first test-drive trip was from Amsterdam to a small village in Germany, close to Dortmund. It was only 250 kilometers but when we arrived I noticed that there was some smoke coming from the top of the engine, plus I had to add, twice, water to the water-tank because it evaporated.

Next morning we went to a local garage to check it out. It turns out that one of the fuel injector pipe had a small hole, thus spraying diesel fuel on the engine. He found a pipe from a different VW car (did not see which one was it) bend it a bit to fit and replaced it. However, he told me to buy new ones and replace all of them if possible.

The shiny new steel pipes are the replaced fuel injection pipes.
So when I came back to Amsterdam, I went to the VW dealership and ask for these injection pipes. There are four of those, since there are four cylinders. The fix is very straightforward, you remove the old ones and you put the new ones. Each have a different shape and will fit a specific cylinder  (they are numbered). Don't forget to put back the rubber clippers since they are needed to keep the pipes in position and let them vibrate freely with the engine.
